The enigmatic East London rapper John Glacier emerged this year with star singles 'On Formulation' and 'Icing' in the run-up to her avant-garde debut album SHILOH: Lost For Words. With Vegyn behind the production, the electronics on the record are somber, lo-fi and tactile like granulated sugar. John Glacier's vocal delivery is always sincere, and at times, soft and drowsy. With our inclination towards melancholy, 'On Formulation' is a stand-out tune on the record, draped in beautifully mournful synths and tones of blue. 'Icing' is another track that caught our attention with its murky production, and John Glacier's more punchy vocals, where she spills the deep-hitting lines, 'Know that they don't like me, they just think I'm pretty icy, think I'm pretty spicy, don't see me as human'.
